esac1The College of Agriculture of Coimbra (ESAC) has over 127 years of history. The ESAC is a college integrated at the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra, globally oriented to achieving the objectives of the polytechnic in the field of technology, science and agricultural engineering and tourism, including: develop qualified professionals, with high level of demand in technological, scientific, professional and cultural aspects; teach courses leading to the attainment of 1st and 2nd cycle education degrees, postgraduate and Technological Specialisation Courses (CETs); teaching short courses and issue the respective certificates and diplomas; conduct integrated research activities, preferably in research centres; community service in view to mutual appreciation; promote exchange with converging, national and international institutions; contribute as part of their activities for international cooperation and the encounter between peoples and communities.

The CERNAS uses the facilities and equipment available at the host Institution, located in the campus of the Superior School of Agriculture of Coimbra. Researchers have unrestricted access to computer network, scientific publications signed by ESAC or accessible through protocols, and infrastructure and equipment as follows:
